Johnny Woods
Johnny Woods is a
TeamSTEPPSTM Master Trainer who brings over 25 years of
military and commercial aviation experience to the LifeWings team. He has
instructed for more than 22 of those years and possesses extensive knowledge of
crew resource management and aviation safety. Mr. Woods has
worked with Salem Hospital, University of California Fresno, Irvine, and San
Diego, Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, Memorial Healthcare System, and Mount
Carmel Health System.
Mr. Woods graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of
Science in Civil Engineering Construction before entering the US Air Force. He
flew C-130 transport aircraft prior to serving as an instructor in T-37 primary
jet trainers. Upon leaving the Air Force, Johnny worked as a simulator and
academics instructor in the T-37 and T-1A aircraft. In 1997, he began
instructing simulators and academics for a major airline. He is currently a
B-727 Captain.
Johnny is a graduate of the Air Force Aircraft Mishap and Investigation Flight
Safety Program. He served two years as an Air Force Flight Safety Officer. He
holds FAA certificates as Airline Transport Pilot B-727 Type Rating, Certified
Flight Instructor, Flight Engineer, Aircraft Dispatcher, and Ground Instructor.
Mr. Woods lives in Memphis, Tennessee, with his wife and three children.
