Richard Doss, Manager of Business Development

Richard Doss is Manager of Business Development for LifeWings. Richard has 12 years of experience guiding health care institutions on their journey to become High Reliability Organizations (HROs). He delivers sustainable process improvement and change management skills that work in the real world. His expertise in best practices for patient safety and quality is unmatched, and he has a reputation as a dependable catalyst for hospitals and health systems wishing to eliminate medical errors and achieve clinical excellence.

 

Mr. Doss specializes in educating hospitals on the formula for creating a complete safety and cultural transformation essential to ultra-safe, ultra-reliable systems of care. Richard is exceptionally adept at designing initiatives to streamline processes and operations, reduce medical errors, improve staff morale and effectiveness, cut expenses, and maximize patient and physician satisfaction. 

 

Richard has cultivated relationships with key health care leaders, including those from IT solution providers, architectural firms, ACHE, AHA, and multiple state hospital associations. Those connections have provided him key insights to health care reform and other CMS changes affecting hospitals and health systems now, and three to five years in the future. As a result, Mr. Doss is widely considered as a thought leader on developing improvement solutions that are ahead of the curve in health care reform legislation.

 

Prior to joining the LifeWings team, Mr. Doss spent over six years with RWD’s Performance Solutions group. While at RWD, he launched a successful health care performance solutions business by developing key senior advisors and a team of process experts to solve health care clients’ business cost, waste, quality and delivery issues. Mr. Doss developed new business channels and grew annual revenues from $350K to over $6.5M in three years.

 

Richard has developed improvement solutions for a multitude of academic and community-based health systems including Mayo Health Systems, Main Line Health, Allina Health Systems, St Luke’s Episcopal Health System, Fairview Health Services, University of Minnesota Medical Center, and the Baylor Health Care System. 

 

Mr. Doss graduated from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, with a BS in Operations Management/Human Resources Industrial Relations.
