Stephen W. Harden, ATP,B-727, B-737
Stephen Harden is President of LifeWings Partners LLC and co-founder
of Crew Training International, Inc., the world’s largest provider of CRM
training for aviation organizations. A captain for a major international airline
and former TopGun fighter pilot, Mr. Harden has been the principal architect of
LifeWings’ adaptation of aviation-based safety tools and best practices for
healthcare. In the past year he has been responsible for the courseware and
training provided to over 12,000 physicians and staff and has worked with over
75 healthcare organizations over the last seven years to implement a culture of
safety. He is also the co-author of “CRM: The Flight Plan for Lasting Change
in Patient Safety,” the definitive how-to text on implementing
aviation-based safety tools in healthcare, published by HCPro. Mr. Harden has
been involved in human factors and safety training for a wide variety of
military and commercial customers for 18 years, producing over 40 separate
training programs for aviation, heavy construction, military contractors, and
healthcare. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and an FAA certified
flight examiner. Mr. Harden lives in Memphis, Tennessee with his wife and five
children.
Harden is a graduate of the
United States Naval Academy. He
accumulated over 300 aircraft
carrier landings during service
with the U.S. Navy and was
selected to be an instructor
pilot at the Navy’s elite
Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN).
He holds an Airline Transport
Pilot rating and Type ratings in
B-727 and 737 aircraft and is an
FAA certified flight examiner.
