Stuart D. Hirsch, RN, CFII has over twenty years of combined healthcare and aviation experience. He has attained degrees in Nursing, Sciences, and graduated from Binghamton University with High Honors in Anthropology.

A professional aviator, Stuart holds commercial ratings for single and multi engine aircraft. He is a certified instrument flight instructor and has flown for Part 135 operations and corporations. He continues to provide intensive simulator-based and actual instrument flight training with an emphasis on consistent, reproducible performance. He enjoys flying a variety of aircraft – from the Piper Warrior trainer to the Aero L-39 aerobatic jet.

Combining a passion for aviation and lifesaving, Stuart served on aeromedical teams in New Mexico and New York, specializing in all areas of critical care: from premature neonate, pediatric, high-risk OB, and cardiac to trauma scene response. As a past helicopter flight team safety committee chairman, he credits CRM as having been pivotal to the team’s proven safety record and good mission outcomes.

Stuart attributes safe and superlative patient outcomes to the use of checklist approaches and effective team communication. Clinically, he maintains certifications in BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS and currency in ATLS skills. Stuart has enjoyed the art and discipline of saving lives both on land and in the air, and he seeks to create comprehensive systems to enable others to do the same.
